Moving in the fall can be a little unpredictable. Will it be warm or cold? Will it rain or be sunny? The fall is full of different types of weather which means that if you’re planning on moving it may take proceeding with some extra precautions.
Here are some things to consider when planning on moving during the unpredictable fall weather.
Follow The Weather Forecast: When you use O’Malley Moving Services, our professional movers are listening to the weather forecast too! We’ll come equipped with floor protection to protect hardwood and carpeted areas from mud or debris. We don’t want to muck up your new home before you’re even fully moved in, and we’ll leave the old place clean for the new residents.
Take Necessary Safety Precautions: If there’s some kind of risky weather then make sure to take the necessary safety precautions. Think about where you’re located and the typical kind of weather you experience. If it rains a lot where you live then make sure to be prepared for it by wearing non-slip shoes or boots. If rain is the case then bring cardboard to lay down on your new floors because there’s a lot of foot traffic with moving and you don’t want to muck up your new home because you’re even fully moved in.
Consider The Risk of Damage: Consider the elements on your moving day. The chance of cold temperatures, hail, rain, snow, and even wind can increase the risk of items getting damaged during your move. Let us know which of your items are highly valuable, irreplaceable, and/or vulnerable items so that we can ensure they are not damaged during transit.
Clear The Path: The fall season is filled with debris scattering weather, whether it’s the autumn foliage or mud from rainy weather. Make sure to clear the path you’ll be using to move your items from the truck to inside your house.
